A Guid New Year Tae Ane and A’

Here comes the first foot…bearing coal for the outer man and whisky for the inner…

first footing

Let us find a new voice for the  year to come…

‘For last year’s words belong to last year’s language

And next year’s words await another voice.’

Let us find a voice for ourselves. for those whose voices are never heard, and may we speak for freedom and justice.

But not forget the fun of seeing in the New Year… years ago German friends introduced us to their cult New Year clip

Dinner for One

We too watch it every year..as much in celebration of our German friends as for the absurdity itself…part of the ritual of the passing of the old year.

And so we remember…

Happy we’ve all been together

And look forward.

Many thanks to all of you kind enough to follow …and to comment…on this blog. I enjoy your company.

Lang may your lums reek.

  1. I’ll ha ye know my lums don’t reek anymore, I had em washed last week.
Great to see Pete Seeger again as well as dinner for one which I was introduced to a few years ago. I’m with you on speaking for freedom and justice plus peace if it’s on the cards.
Have a Wonderful New Year Helen,

  2. Live long and prosper, guys. May your stacks smoke for many a year and may the mouse never leave your grain store with a tear drop in its eye – or words to that effect!

  3. A guid new year to yin and all etc.
I hope the wee dugs sleep well.
I hope you and Leo have a very good year this year!

    1. And so do we!
I hope in the coming year you can drop all these ideas of getting fit which have been making you ill….
The dogs might sleep well…after the fireworks. Whewther we shall find ourselves sleeping on the floor is another matter..

        1. We were lucky…very few fireworks this year so the dogs decided to shab off back to their own beds….obviously we took up too much room for them to be comfortable.

    1. That is very kind of you….the same goes for your posts – though I hope that the neighbour problem will be solved soon. Leo suggests burying him in the forest and planting something over him.
